Mission Statement:

The Princeton Police Department is dedicated to protecting the people and property of the City of Princeton. We work to provide a safe environment for the residents, workforce, and visitors to our area. We are committed to fair, professional, equal service for all and work to maintain a progressive law enforcement organization that embraces the values of the community.

History:  The Princeton Police Department was formed in 1877. Constable William Martin was elected and the village of Princeton had its first law enforcement figure. The Police Department was housed next to City Hall for almost 20 years before moving into its new facility in 2014. The new Public Safety Building at 305 21st Ave. S. is home to the Princeton Police Department and the Princeton Fire and Rescue Department. Todd Frederick currently serves as Chief of Police.
